We stumbled upon our piece of Allotted Earth in the snow of January 2010. Having spent many years trying to grow in pots and troughs the dream was to have our own piece of land – we needed acreage. Our dream, albeit covered in two foot of snow at the time, was finally within our reach.

Since being given the go ahead in April 2010 we have spent every available moment either planning, potting or planting our plot of earth (and of course let’s not forget about the endless weeding of it…as if we ever could). We have become obsessed. So much so that we were lucky enough to be allocated another piece of earth last year and are now also the proud owners of a greenhouse (and a recently collapsed polytunnel!).

Life doesn’t get any better than this, well, at least not for the moment. A few pigs, goats and chickens would complete the perfect dream but for now we’ll just settle for our piece of Allotted Earth.
